Ready to Take Your Pilot Skills to the Next Level? The best and safest pilots are always learning. Part of that process is exposing yourself to new and challenging flight situations so your capabilities are stretched and you are forced to learn new skills. Aerobatics, Upset Recovery Training, and Tailwheel Transition provide perfect opportunities to increase your confidence and your stick and rudder skills. Check out these exciting courses with veteran CFI and former fighter pilot, Michael Christmann.
Aerobatics: Want to find out what its like to do rolls, loops, and spins? We can schedule a few hours to introduce you to the aerobatic flight environment. Or you can go all in and learn how to fly aerobatics yourself! Take the “Basic Aerobatics Course”, an 8-10 hour immersion course in the fundamentals of aerobatics flight: dutch rolls, hammerheads, loops, rolls, spins, inverted flight, and more!
Upset Recovery: Would you be able to quickly and confidently right your aircraft if you were hit with a downdraft, entered a spin, or became inverted? The “Upset Recovery Course” will take you through 2-3 hours of training in unusual attitudes, stall progression, snap rolls, spiral dives, spin prevention and recovery, and more. Want to become a safer and more competent pilot? The Upset Recovery Course will give you the training you need.
Tailwheel Training: Modern nosewheel (tricycle gear) aircraft are designed to have “forgiving” flight and ground-handling characteristics. The downside is that pilots can become inattentive, and prone to bad stick and rudder habits. In this Tailwheel Transition Course, you’ll not only learn proper taxiing technique in various wind conditions, you’ll also learn exacting coordination of stick and rudder in all flight regimes, and especially takeoff and landing.
- The “Upset Recovery Course” is approximately 2-3 hours
- The “Basic Aerobatics Course” is approximately 8-10 hour
- All flight training is done with CFI and aerobatics instructor Michael Christmann
- Fly our beautiful 1977 Super Decathlon! Aircraft rental is $199/hr, and Michael’s fee is $65/hr
Meet your instructor, Michael Christmann: Michael is a former German Luftwaffe fighter pilot with 25 years experience as a CFI, 7500 hours total time, and 1200 hours in the Super Decathlon.
