The initial CFI (Certified Flight Instructor) is based on single engine VFR (Visual Flight Rules) training. This allows you to work with students for Private, part of Instrument, and Commercial licenses. After 2 years and 200 hours of dual training given, you can begin to train other CFI candidates. CFII (Certified Flight Instructor Instrument) allows you to sign-off pilots for their Instrument Ratings. The MEI (Multi-Engine Instructor) allows you to sign-off students for their Multi-Engine Ratings.
